The Person Behind Narah

Narah was founded by Sneha Chakrapani, whose practice has always existed somewhere between art, textiles and the spaces we inhabit.
With a foundation in Visual Arts from Stella Maris, Sneha developed her practice in interior design through years of self directed learning, observation and hands-on experience. Her approach has been shaped by a natural sensitivity to colour, proportion, texture and material, along with a curiosity about how people experience and interact with the spaces around them.

Narah began in 2020, exploring design through art and textiles before gradually finding its natural expression in interiors. By the end of 2022, the studio had evolved into a turnkey interior design practice, bringing together Sneha's interest in materials, visual storytelling and the way people experience a space.

Her approach is less about creating interiors that look a certain way and more about understanding what makes a space feel right. This way of working has become central to Narah, creating interiors that are contemporary in their language, but still carry a sense of place, personality and warmth.

About Narah

Narah is a bespoke interior design studio built around a simple idea: a well-designed space should feel like it belongs to the person living in it.
We work across interior design, space planning, renovations and bespoke home furnishings, creating spaces that are considered from the way they look to the way they are lived in. Rather than following a particular aesthetic, we begin with the people, the architecture, the light, the materials and the everyday rituals that make a space its own.
Our work often brings together two worlds that naturally speak to each other, the clarity of contemporary design and the richness of Indian craft. We are drawn to materials with texture, patterns with a sense of history and details that reveal the hand behind them. The result is interiors that feel warm and layered rather than overly styled.

From the first interior concept and spatial planning to material selection, custom details, execution and final styling, we approach each project as one continuous design story.

Interior Design, Shaped Around You

We look at how a space needs to function, how people move through it, what they want to see and what they want to feel. Our work spans interior concepts, space planning, material and finish selection, custom furniture, renovations, styling and the many details that bring a project together.

We work across residential and other spaces where a thoughtful, design-led approach can make a meaningful difference.

The intention is never to impose a signature Narah look. Instead, each project develops its own visual language, shaped by the architecture, the people and the character of the space.

Textiles by Krithi

Textiles have always been an important part of the Narah world.

Through Krithi, our textile practice explores the relationship between traditional Indian craft and contemporary living. The collection includes curtains, bedsheets, lampshades, cushion covers, accessories and other pieces designed to bring pattern, texture and warmth into a space.

The block printed patterns are designed in house, with each motif developed with the larger interior in mind. We consider its scale, rhythm, colour and how it will sit alongside the materials and forms already present in a room.

This allows the textiles to become more than individual decorative pieces. They can be part of the larger design language of a home.
We are particularly drawn to the character that comes from something being made by hand. Small variations, the quality of the print and the tactility of the fabric give each piece a sense of individuality that is difficult to reproduce through uniform production.

Krithi is, in many ways, an extension of the way we approach interiors: rooted in craft, contemporary in its expression and always considered in relation to the space around it.

The Team At Narah

Narah is a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects, and civil engineers, each bringing a different perspective to the design process.

But what brings the team together is more than just their individual expertise. Communication and strong client relationships are at the core of how Narah works. The team believes that a successful home is created through an open, collaborative process where clients feel heard, involved, and comfortable throughout the journey.

From understanding the initial brief to developing the design and coordinating the execution, the team works closely with clients at every stage. Ideas are discussed, questions are answered, and decisions are made together.

This collaborative approach, combined with the team's design and technical expertise, allows Narah to create homes that are not only well designed, but genuinely reflective of the people who live in them.

Begin with a Conversation

Every project begins somewhere.

It could be a new home waiting to take shape, a space that no longer works for the way you live, or simply an idea that has been sitting with you for a while.

We like to begin there, with a conversation.

Tell us about your space, what you have in mind and what you would like it to become. From there, we can begin to understand what the space needs and where we can take it together.
