A Kerala-inspired home where traditional elements meet contemporary functionality.

For Koodu, Narah designed a 2600 sq. ft. apartment in Adyar around the warmth and character of Kerala-inspired interiors. The private living area was anchored by a long brick wall and a signature Oonjal set against a lush wallpaper, creating a strong sense of place. The formal living room combined sleek contemporary seating with traditional pieces such as a vintage coffee table and wooden trunk, bringing different periods and materials together within the same space.

The bedrooms were individually designed to reflect the family. The master bedroom used warm Kerala-inspired wallpaper and a window nook that could work for reading or work, while the daughter's room was given a lighter, youthful palette with peach tones and geometric patterns. The study was designed to double as a guest room through a foldable cot, while the kitchen and dining were planned for practical everyday use with contemporary finishes and ample storage.
